She's a patriot

"Irshad hit the world's radar screen about four years ago with her shot heard 'round the world, the publication of "The Trouble With Islam," since retitled "The Trouble With Islam Today." It is a critique of fundamental Islam wrapped in a call for reformation."

A 'patriot' calls for Islamic reform
By Stu Bykofsky

WHEN I THINK of patriots, I think of the not-yet-Americans who declared their independence from despotism, pledging "our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor." (They were Big on Capitalization in the Olde Days.) They did not make the pledge to a flag or even to a country. The country didn't even exist yet. They pledged themselves to an idea. Continued...

History of Terror - the USS Cole

SEVENTEEN people died and 39 were injured in a terrorist attack on the American guided missile destroyer, USS Cole, in Aden harbour, Yemen, on October 12, 2000.

While the ship was refuelling offshore, a small craft with two men on board - presumed to be suicide bombers - approached the ship and exploded. The small boat is believed to have been packed with 400-700 pounds of explosives, and the blast blew a 40-foot hole in the side of the USS Cole.

Effectively engage in battle of ideas

"Refocusing U.S. efforts to include a robust strategic communication blueprint is a critical component of an overall counterterrorism strategy. Arresting and killing operatives alone does little to counter the disturbingly effective radicalization campaign through which al-Qaeda and like-minded groups build both physical and virtual support networks."

Highlighting al-Qaeda's Bankrupt Ideology
By Matthew Levitt and Michael Jacobson

According to recent U.S. government reports and senior U.S. counterterrorism officials, contesting al-Qaeda's message is no less important than capturing or killing the group's operatives. And as the administration prioritizes its agenda for the last eight months in office, recognizing the need for a refocused communication plan to highlight the bankruptcy of al-Qaeda's ideology is a critical -- albeit overdue -- part of a reengineered counterterrorism strategy. Continued...

Obama wins, but this is what he says

"I'll be a president that ends this war in Iraq and finally brings our troops home, who restores our moral standing, who understands that 9-11 is not a way a way to scare up votes but a challenge that should unite America and the world against the common threats of the 21st Century."

Ideological Role Models of Senator Barack Obama

Senator Barack Obama

Senator Barack Obama said:
"Preventing a potential genocide in Iraq isn't a good enough reason to keep U.S. forces there".

Comment by Boris Tiraspolsky:
It is an ethically wrong and appalling statement.

Senator Barack Obama said:

Comment by Boris Tiraspolsky:
I think one should appreciate these rare words of honesty. Although, even Bill Clinton is not qualified to conduct global battle with Terror. Neither of them got necessary Properties of the Commander-in-Chief

The Key for Ideological Defeat of Terrorism

"One who denies personal responsibility in battle with Terror on the American soil, and insists  in the middle of battlefield on “constitutional rights” that must be protected by someone else, will have neither “rights”, nor “protection”.

"Useful Art" of Freedom Of Speech by Norman Rockwel

"Constitutional rights" vs. Constitutional Responsibility
by Boris Tiraspolsky,
Founding Member of
“Freedom of speech”, or rather freedom of expression, both oral and written, alleged to be one of the most important “constitutional rights” by many in the United States. Supporters of this view always refer to the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States that guarantees “freedom of speech”. However, understanding of “freedom of speech” as one of “constitutional rights” is commonly absorbed and widely spread misconception creating current ideological draw back of the Nation in battle with Islamic Terrorism.

First of all, the grouping of these two words “constitutional” and “rights” is seemingly contradictory and incongruous. This type of combination of words is usually called an oxymoron. English poet Sir Philip Sidney gives great examples of oxymoron. His fictional characters - lovers - speak of “living deaths“, “dear wounds“, “fair storms“, and “freezing fires”. So, why is the broadly used term “constitutional rights” the oxymoron?

The Constitution of the United States is the Supreme Law of the Land, and everyone in the United States must obey it. The original text of the Constitution of the United States is a sum of responsibilities of the American people both, governing and governed. Consequently, all the Amendments incorporated later into the body of the Constitution, even if they are using such words as “right” and “rights” are, in fact, responsibilities of the American people.

Acceptance of “freedom of speech” as the constitutional provision, turned “freedom of speech" into the Constitutional Responsibility of the American people. Moreover, one is either with the Supreme Law of the Land, that orders to “secure the Blessings of Liberty for ourselves and our Posterity” by exercising all constitutional provisions, including the provision of “freedom of speech”, or one is in contempt to the Constitution of the United States.

Constitutional provisions wrongly taken as “constitutional rights” inevitably require a strong additional protection from outside of the Constitution. A heavy reliance on this “outside” safeguards is a direct cause for emerging numerous organizations and bureaucracies protecting “constitutional rights“, and making fortune out of litigations, but being absolutely pathetic and incompetent, under attacks of the Ideology of the Islamic Law, denying any "freedom of speech"and independent thinking.

One who denies personal responsibility in battle with Terror on the American soil, and insists in the middle of battlefield on “constitutional rights” that must be protected by someone else, will have neither “rights”, nor “protection". In contrast, “freedom of speech”, realized as the Constitutional Responsibility of the American people, will be always protected by those who need this fundamental “freedom” the most. That is the key Principle for the ideological defeat of the Islamic Terrorism intending to replace the Constitution of the United States, with the Islamic Law, as the Supreme Law of the Land.

A self-inflicted defeat

"National security strategy is policy and policy implies a theory -- a theory for action.  To date we have no concrete theory of action because we have no fully articulated global threat model. We are seven years into a global war with armed combat and many dead and wounded, and yet still lack a common analytic paradigm to describe and model the enemy.  It is a stunning failure to propel the country to war without a fully elaborated threat model that clarifies and specifies the enemy and makes clear our true objectives."

Reply to my critics...

"I want to tell my critics representing either “wrong ideologies“, or “ideology of no ideology” about their persistence to force meaningless debate at a time of battle in the middle of the battlefield. Whether you like or not it is in fact wartime aiding the enemy."

"Useful Art" of  World War II propaganda poster

The following is an example of what one of my critics says about my recent publication Random Thoughts about Terrorist Warfare : ”You [Boris Tiraspolsky] mention in this post: "In a final analysis, modern terrorist warfare appears to be a new way of life that the Nation has to accept and endure for centuries ahead, and for a sake of own survival adjust to this new Reality of total World War..."

This view lacks perspective in my opinion. Our 'own survival?' Look at the casualties inflicted on our Nation to date at the hands of these pathetic, technologically retarded savages: statistically speaking, they have done no damage at all if you take into account other conflicts during our existence.

And now look at our successes in thwarting terrorist plots: those bozos who botched the Fort Dix plot, those idiots who botched the Sears Tower plot, (ad infinitem...). Boris, you know I read your material, but the basis of your entire blog is based on hyperbole: we as a Nation have got this under control, give or take. We've got it under control domestically. Our anti-terrorist effort is nearly as good or on par with the Israeli effort."

As a general rule I never reply to critics of my writings. They may say whatever they wish. I do not get into all these imposed discussions by two reasons. First one - my critics usually come up with extremely shallow and in most cases irrelevant ideas about a complex issue of Ideologically charged battle with Terror in general and on the American soil in particular. Second reason - I do not think I ever will be able to change minds of my critics, regardless of how profound my reply could be.

I am not naïve to expect everyone to like what I say. However, I do wish as many people as possible to realize an extreme seriousness of the subject I write about - modern terrorist warfare and anti-terrorist Instruments and Forces necessary to withstand terrorist attacks with conventional weapons and Weapons of Mass Destruction on the American soil.

The United States are in long term battle with irreconcilable enemy - Islamic jihadists intending to exhaust all Nation’s human and economic resources and brake the Will of Nation to resist. Consequently, our enemy is determined to replace the Constitution of the United States with the Islamic Law as the Supreme Law of the Land. My firm position is to the best of my ability to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against U.S. ideological enemies.

Therefore, when I see a slightest attempt of diminishing a significance of the subject of modern terrorist warfare and/or inevitable dramatic impact battle with Terror makes on life of the Nation, I change my general rule not to reply to my critics. I want to tell my critics representing either “wrong ideologies“, or “ideology of no ideology” about their persistence to force meaningless debates at a time of battle in the middle of the battlefield. Whether you like or not it is in fact wartime aiding the enemy.

Joy and happiness are not the same things

"Happiness is ephemeral and depends largely on the vagaries of circ-umstance. It is a transient emotional state that is context-specific and is quickly antidoted by pain or sorrow. Joy is a spiritual state and is therefore, like love, bigger than suffering, than sadness, than pain."

The spirit of appeasement

"The key question for Westerners is: Do we love our freedoms as much as they [Islamic jihadists] hate them? Many free people, alas, have become so accustomed to freedom, and to the comfortable position of not having to stand up for it, that they’re incapable of defending it when it’s imperiled—or even, in many cases, of recognizing that it is imperiled."

An Anatomy of Surrender
By Bruce Bawer

Islam divides the world into two parts. The part governed by sharia, or Islamic law, is called the Dar al-Islam, or House of Submission. Everything else is the Dar al-Harb, or House of War, so called because it will take war—holy war, jihad—to bring it into the House of Submission. Over the centuries, this jihad has taken a variety of forms. Two centuries ago, for instance, Muslim pirates from North Africa captured ships and enslaved their crews, leading the U.S. to fight the Barbary Wars of 1801–05 and 1815. In recent decades, the jihadists’ weapon of choice has usually been the terrorist’s bomb; the use of planes as missiles on 9/11 was a variant of this method. Continued...

The U.S. leadership's mixed, confused messages

"In developing any blueprint strategy in an "ideological struggle", the first and most fundamental action must be shared, agreed-upon definitions. In a war strategy, such definitions are literally of life-and-death importance. Yet our leadership on this issue continues to send out mixed, confused messages as to who and what the enemy is."

The Continuing Debate Over "Jihadists" As The Enemy

By Jeffrey Imm

Last week, the Associated Press reported that the State Department approved National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) guidelines for terminology in defining the enemy created by NCTC's Extremist Messaging Branch, based on a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report "Terminology to Define the Terrorists: Recommendations from American Muslims". In these new guidelines, the term "jihadist" (among others) was not to be used in defining the enemy or its actions. Continued...

The criminal-terrorist nexus

"While pressure is exerted on “traditional” methods of financing terrorist activities (ie., those that were suddenly obvious after 9/11, such as the use of charites), little is done on fronts that can yield equal, and low risk profits."

Cigarettes and the Criminal-Terrorist Nexus

by Douglas Farah

The minority staff of the House Committee on Homeland Security has, as first reported by Fox News, posted an interesting report on the ties between cigarette smuggling and terrorism. The report focuses primarily on smuggling in New York and the billions of dollars in lost revenues suffered from illicit cigarette sales. But in fact, the smuggling and sales of cigarettes have long been one of the primary life-blood sources of criminals and, increasingly, of terrorist activities. The criminal-terrorist nexus is not new, but it is of growing importance.  Continued...

Alternative to replace virtual fence failure

"One of typical characterizations of modern terrorist warfare is ignoring State Borders of Sovereign States by attacking the States from outside and from within. Among most common terrorist siege techniques is “Trojan Horse” of a massive legal and illegal immigrations resulting in establishing so-called “peaceful communities” on a territory of a State-target. By abusing traditional hospitality, these “peaceful communities” tend to grow into a sophisticated Terrorist Support System within State-targets." - Boris Tiraspolsky

The ideological parallel

"The ideological parallel is the foundational similarity between the Cold War and the Long War. In both, the liberal West faces an adversarial ideology that is both universalist (that is: to be spread world-wide) and totalitarian (in that it seeks control over all aspects of life). In other words, the competing ideology is inherently incompatible with Western principles of pluralism and liberty. Islamism, however, will prove more difficult for the West to combat on an ideological level."

The Long War
The War on Terror, reconsidered
By Russ Gottwald

The War on Terror, or the Long War as President Bush has restyled it, shares many features of the Cold War. Both of them are, at root, ideological conflicts perceived very differently by the respective adversaries. Both sets of ideologies contain internal fissures and (to a certain degree) state sponsors of their dominant strains of thought. Both feature proxy and paramilitary campaigns, but (at least as of yet) no direct conflicts between the primary state sponsors. Finally, neither offers the possibility of a purely military victory in the vein of the triumph over Fascism; indeed, a hallmark of victory in the Long War will be that the losing ideology, rather than being truly defeated, will be marginalized the way that Marxism has been. Continued...

U.S. Anti-Terrorist National Character

"Character is a undeniably one of the most significant categories of Human Culture." - Boris Tiraspolsky

First U.S. National Characters - Founding Fathers of the Nation
_____________________________________

Historic Call for U.S. Anti-Terrorist National Character

In the current “crises of human affairs”, threatening the very existence of the Western Civilization, one Nation - the People of the United States - have to take a leading role on the Historical Stage, and “preserve, protect and defend“ material and cultural values of the Mankind. There is no doubt, this is the single most important development for the youngest of the Great Nations and the oldest Constitutional Republic in the Modern History. It is the righteous call with expectations to avert the unfolding calamity in battle with Terror.

Absolute success of the noble endeavor of combating Terrorism can be neither guaranteed, nor can come miraculously by itself. However, victory in battle with Terror is never an exercise in futility, if the Nation precisely defines own Historic Mission (Read more...) and meticulously identifies true National Character (Read more...) capable of accomplishing that Historic Mission.

These two conditions represent a set of practical ideas essential for a survival of the Nation in the current sinister stage of battle with Terror. In other words, Historic Mission and National Character are fundamental anti-terrorist Ideological Principles demonstrating maturity of the Nation, and ability of the People of the United States to lead in “life or death“ battle for survival of the Civilization.

Therefore, it is crucial that principles of the Nation’s Historic Mission must be plain enough to be grasped and accepted by many in the United States. It is imperative that Ethics and Esthetics of National Character need to be universal enough in order to be recognized by that many and consequently, unite the exceptionally diverse citizenry of the country in battle.

Character is a undeniably one of the most significant categories of Human Culture. It is an embodiment of thousands years of cultural evolution of Man chained by powerful natural instincts - primarily territorial and survival. Character represents a long way taken by Man from the darkness of his biological dependency on instincts to Liberty and Sovereignty of almost ideal Human Being - embodiment of absolute Ethics and perfect Esthetics of the original Image and the original Likeness of his Creator.

In its own term, National Character is “E Pluribus Unum” - a personification and manifestation of the very best cultural properties of many in ONE. It is the Role Model of the Nation at a time of battle with Terror. National Character is a paramount of a historical development of the American people going from serving own self-centered and narrow political, economic, social interests to benevolent pledge of own Life and Fortune to support Ideals of the Mankind incorporated in the Nation’s Historic Mission.

Development of anti-terrorist National Character - Homeland Defender being able to withstand physical and ideological enemy’s power is a must in opposition to rapidly multiplying numbers of Ideological Collaborators with enemy. This requires a role modeling after great National Characters - patriots of the past, advanced anti-terrorist education on all levels, and profound anti-terrorist ideological training for all U.S. Military and all U.S. anti-terrorist Civilian Self-Defense Forces, the current and future. (Read more...)
